Welcome to Alexander Dickson Primary Schools' web site. Our team of teaching and non-teaching staff is committed to providing the best possible educational experience for every child in our school. 

Our work in school is enhanced by the close links we have with parents and community.  Our aim is to provide an environment where children can develop positive attitudes towards learning and where every child has the opportunity to develop their talents and aptitudes to the full.

We foster a community atmosphere with good relationships between pupils and staff and provide a happy, caring ethos. 

Alexander Dickson Primary School, which was opened in 1968, is situated off the Comber Road in Ballygowan on an elevated site . We have 6 classrooms, a dining hall/gymnasium , a library and computer suite.  The majority of our pupils are drawn from the Ballygowan area with a current enrolment of approximately 110.
